Why HarpXin™?

A Signal-Based Approach to Plant Health

HarpXin™ does not function as a conventional nutrient or direct-contact pesticide. Instead, it provides a biological signal that activates plant responses.

Conventional approach:

Nutrient → Plant growth
Pesticide → Direct pathogen control

HarpXin™ approach:

Harpin αβ → Plant recognition → Signal transduction → Defense + Growth + Stress response

This makes HarpXin™ a complementary tool for modern integrated crop management and sustainable agriculture programs.

Application Method

HarpXin™ is primarily applied as a foliar spray.

For effective application:

  • Use non-chlorinated water.

  • Ensure thorough leaf coverage.

  • Apply during the recommended crop growth stage.

  • Follow the recommended dosage and crop-specific application program.

HarpXin™ can be integrated into suitable crop nutrition and crop-protection programs, subject to compatibility testing.

Harpin proteins represent a unique class of biologically derived signal molecules capable of activating intrinsic plant defense and growth mechanisms. HarpXin™, formulated with Harpin αβ Proteins, functions as a plant elicitor rather than a nutrient or pesticide, triggering Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) and growth-associated physiological pathways. Their molecular and physiological mechanisms of action, and their documented applications in crop productivity, abiotic stress tolerance, and post-harvest quality enhancement, are highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the dual role of Harpin αβ in activating defense-related gene expression and unlocking growth systems that improve yield, nutrient uptake, and shelf life across a broad range of crops.
Unlike conventional biostimulant or biopesticides, Harpin αβ has no direct toxicity to pathogens. Instead, it acts as an elicitor of the plant’s innate immunity. On plant contact, Harpin αβ triggers a cascade of signals (e.g. via ethylene and salicylic acid pathways) that mimic a pathogen attack, activating hypersensitive response (HR) and systemic acquired resistance (SAR) mechanisms. This “stress-priming” boosts multiple defense pathways (phenylpropanoids, reactive oxygen species, cell wall reinforcement) as well as general growth.
